For me, it’s just common sense to separate my personal from my business life so it’s a no-brainer that I wouldn’t say anything that might cause me trouble at my work. Even though courts have already ruled that companies should not restrict their employees from talking about work on social media, it still is not worth risking it.
There are plenty of legal ways short of firing you to make your work life a living hell, however, for the following tweeps, they deserved to be fired, period.
Fake Over-time and Brag About It
It’s stupid enough to fake over-time, it’s a completely different level of stupid when you implicate yourself:
Some people think that it is easy to get retweets on Twitter. Trust me when I tell you: it’s NOT! More often than not, unless you are famous – a celebrity, singer, company, actor, politician and so on – your tweets might get lost in the tide!
So, from my experience on Twitter, here are 10 valuable tips which can help you increase the number of retweets you get on Twitter:
1. Make Your Tweets Count!
First and most importantly, you should always invest in your tweets. Your tweets are a reflection of who you are on Twitter so you should make them valuable and interesting enough to RT.
2. Choose Your Followers Carefully:
In case you haven’t realized it yet, you may have thousands of followers yet get a few retweets on your blog posts or in your mentions. If you are wondering why, remember that quality always comes before quantity. So, make sure the tweeps you want to follow are active on Twitter.

3. Don’t Be Selfish!
It is only natural that you should treat others like you want to be treated, this applies to Twitter as well. If you want others to retweet you, make sure you retweet others as well!
4. Tweet Your Gratitude:
I found it very useful to tweet my gratitude for the retweets I get every now and then. Showing your appreciation make a lot of difference and encourages tweeps to support you by retweeting you more often.
Nothing beats "thank you" tweets!

When using Tweepi to unfollow those who did not follow you back, you can choose amongst multiple presets such as Klout Score, Number of Tweets, Number of Followers and/or Time of Last Tweet.
However, since you can’t wait forever until a tweep decides to follow you back, you can always depend on the “Date Followed” to make a decision about unfollowing tweeps.
Tweepi Presets to Use for Unfollowing Tweeps
Personally, I give tweeps up to 2 days to follow me back, a longer time period would mean:
- They are not interested in following me back.
- They do not know (and might never know) that I am following them.
- They are inactive.

In case you have missed it, when you scroll down to any of the Tweepi tools pages, you will find a box which asks you to tweet about Tweepi to “unlock the 40 per page for a month”.
Unlocking 40 Per Page
When you do this, the display of tweeps per page will automatically change from 20 to 40 for a month. This helps you go through your tweeps faster and more effectively!
Note: If you don’t like the text of the tweet, try closing it and clicking “Tweet” again, it will choose a different message for you. Of course, you can customize the tweet you send about Tweepi as you please :)
